SSE – Performance Engineering Team
The team:
The Performance Engineering Team which consists
of both Performance Test Engineers and Application Performance Engineers is
responsible for ensuring and maximizing the performance of Company products.
Some of the team’s responsibilities include:
- Establishing performance guidelines and benchmarks for the application.
- Continuously asserting the performance and scalability of the application against established benchmarks.
- Working closely with the development team, participating in design discussions and making sure performance guidelines are followed.
- Identifying performance issues early in the release cycle and coming up with solutions/suggestions as well.
- Recommending various tuning and deployment options for customers.
- Running various stress tests to measure both the application and hardware deployment capacity and coming up with scalable deployment solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the team, analyze/profile the application for performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Come up with fixes/suggestions for the performance issues.
- Analyze customer usage pattern and identify potential bottlenecks in the installation, configuration, or in the application itself.
- Publish tuning parameters and best practices for web/application/database servers, based on customer usage pattern and explain the tuning strategy as well.
- Explore and identify scalability options for various sized customers.
- Work with customers on their performance and scalability issues (onsite/offsite).
- Contribute to creating benchmarks and best practices for the performance engineering team.
Desired profile / skill set:
- 6+ years Java/JEE experience using open source wed technologies (LAMP)
- Solid understanding of web based 3-tier architecture.
- Some Perl/Python scripting knowledge is a plus.
- Basic knowledge and passion for performance tuning skills on LAMP based products.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or MCA
- Great verbal and written skills.
