Job Title: Senior Test Engineer/Lead
Reports to: Test Manager
Job Purpose
To be a
member of the COMPANY Engineering Design Software Products Test
Team at Hyderabad. The test team will be responsible for ensuring the high
quality of COMPANY Software Product deliveries to customers.
The role will also encompass on-going test work on
certain key licensing software projects (ARMS, DLS, Licence Broker). This work
will involve support during the bedding in phase, delivering any updates or
fixes that are identified and full product upgrades in order to ensure
licensing is kept up-to-date with any technical infrastructure changes or OS
updates and to support the evolving business
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assists test management to ensure the delivery of testing activities throughout the duration of a project until release.
- Has hands-on involvement in test activities on a number of different projects.
- Performs and monitors daily tests, providing regular status reports as required.
- Has or acquires knowledge in test tools.
- Work closely with other members of the team, test managers and test leads.
- Work effectively with development and project implementation team members.
- Work with the test methodology team for test automation, tool and technical support.
Candidate Profile:
- Engineering Graduates/Post Graduates in IT/Computer streams with first class degree
- 6+ years of experience in Software Product Quality Assurance.
- 4+ years of experience in Licensing Tester.
- Perform forensic testing – ad hoc testing to investigate software faults
- Develop new test scripts to further enhance the range of scenarios covered and support new technology as and when it is introduced to the licensing product range
- To liaise with the Licensing Team in Cambridge to provide weekly updates on progress and discuss any issues
- Expertise in Software product quality and testing methodologies.

Experience
in designing, developing / modifying test automation frameworks.
- Experience in Test script development using VB Scripting, Python, PERL, C#, or other scripting languages
- Expertise in Test Management and Testing Tools such as HP Quality Center.
- Run existing test scenarios
Knowledge, Skills & Experience – Required:
- Ideally
would have experience of software licensing systems including:
SafeNet, FlexEra, WIBU - Experience of application development/test lifecycle
- Must have experience of scripting languages
- Ideally experience of C# and .NET
- Configuration Management Systems (TFS or similar, SVN etc.)
- Understanding of software security would be beneficial
- Experience of multi-platform or distributed architectures
- Experience of Windows Systems Administration
- Basic understanding of networks
- Experience of Terminal Services and Citrix
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Use and development of automation tests using tools such as HP Quick Test Professional, VSTS, TestComplete etc…
- Basic/intermediate level of software programming VB, C, C#, macro programming Defect tracking tools, such as TFS, Clearcase, Bugzilla.
- Clearly report test status with metrics, covering test development, execution and defects status.
- Ability to estimate and plan testing and create structured Test Plans and Test Reports.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience – Desired:
- Perform Software Product Licensing, forensic testing
- Good programming skills C# and .NET
- Software Testing Certifications like ISTQB/ISEB
- Manual, Automation testing in engineering product domain
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Experience of Performance testing, load, Interface/integration testing, stress, soak, and security.
Personal skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively with developers/development team, domain experts & project managers.
- Willing to take responsibility to own and investigate issues and driving through to resolution
- Evidence of testing complex products where knowledge of the product domain is important.
- Ability to multi task between multiple concurrent projects and adapt to project changes
- Good logical evaluation and judgement/decisions. Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with remote onshore/offshore teams.
- Inquisitive self-starter with passion to drive for excellence and seek to improve testing, processes and products.
- Keen to learn. Both creative and pragmatic.
