Title: Director Engineering

Location: Kolkata

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

v  Lead, mentor and guide the engineering team across multiple domains, technologies and location.

v  Actively involved in developing new products, identifying requirements and setting timelines.

v  Build and manage a team of solutions architects, software engineers, testers, and data analytics specialists.

v  Setting standards, approaches and frameworks.

v  Embedding continuous improvement and ensuring products are continually designed, built and

v  deployed.

v  Set team objectives and expectations and guide their efforts towards successful deliverables

v  Conduct technical reviews (design reviews, code walk-throughs, test reviews, and root cause

v  analysis sessions).

v  Adhere to high quality software development standards.

v  Evaluate technology and make recommendations on technological solutions.

v  Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, architects, business users, project managers, tech support teams and other stakeholders to achieve optimal solutions.

v  Work with other departments to ensure development and outputs are high.

v  A subject-matter expert and provide support to the sales team with new product knowledge,

v  training, and customer visits.

v  Responsible for maintaining Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Organisation’s information

v  assets including business critical information.

v  Review and evaluate team performance and provide continuous feedback.

v  Provide leadership to team members through effective coaching and mentoring.

 

Skills Required

ñ        Strong technical foundation in an advanced structured programming environment.

ñ        Experience with networking, operating systems, databases and frameworks.

ñ        Strong understanding of modern and emerging technologies and development methodologies.

ñ        Excellent strategic skills; both setting and driving strategy.

ñ        Ability to innovate and think out-of-the-box.

ñ        Excellent influencing skills, both managing teams and influencing stakeholders.

ñ        Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.

ñ        Strong collaboration skills.

ñ        Excellent communication skills.

ñ        Ability and willingness to acquire in-depth understanding of domain and existing products and apply that knowledge to work scenarios.

 

Educational Background and Experiences

Þ    Higher Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering. An equivalent of the same in working

Þ    experience is also acceptable for this position.

Þ    15+ years of experience in design and development of technology including 4+ years of experience in a similar senior leadership role

Experience in Cyber Security will be a plu
