Job description

Responsibilities

Strategic implementation and future vision
·         In collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, the Business Head is responsible for defining Company APAC mission, goals, and strategies.
·         In collaboration with Company Leadership Team, the Business Head is responsible for the operationalization and successful execution of the strategies.
Leadership and Team Management
·         The Business Head has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of all Company initiatives, external relationships, financial stability, and all operational, financial, and administrative functions. She/he will oversee and manage growth of Company as necessary and desirable to accomplish the organization’s mission.
·         Company continued success is highly dependent on hiring and retaining highly talented and committed staff. The Business Head is responsible for ensuring the organization identifies, hires and retains the best and brightest employees in the sector. She/he will encourage and reinforce Company creative, data-driven, results-oriented, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary organizational culture. The Business Head will support, mentor, and develop the staff, ensuring team members successfully execute the organization’s mission, goals, and strategies.

External Engagement
·         The Head has important communication responsibilities, both internally and externally. She/he will be actively involved with existing and prospective customers, partners, Company alliances and analysts.
·         She/he will build greater external presence to continue positioning Company as a leader in the CPM segment; leverage status as the new Business Head to build visibility of the Company brand.


Key Outcomes
·         Hitting BUD 18 financials for South East Asia by having clear accountability for driving stronger YOY NS and OP growth
·         Driving new NS growth-focused model for External Sales: Displacing the current over-reliance on declining, competitive MRA's and finding new growth opportunities from new clients
·         Leading a team of professionals in our established offices in Singapore, India and Japan, and supporting the growth of the teams in our new offices in Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia
·         Proactively championing Inclusion & Diversity responsibly both internally & externally
·         Working closely with Company’s MD Greater China to inspire and motivate the wider APAC organization to embed pride in Company, Company and WPP both locally and globally, and achieve high employee engagement and optimal client performance
·         Collaborating with Company’s BOD, our Global Platform Team, and Company peers in SE Asia to deliver go-to market strategies for; Programmatic and Mobile sample, Modern Survey Design, Data Appending, Data Activation and Data visualization faster
·         Working with the Head of Operations for Company and Company in APAC to support the build of more locally-representative Operations Teams (previously centralized out of Sydney for Company)

Competencies and Attributes

·         Strong communicator, with local language capabilities and experience
·         Strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of managing a P&L worth US$20M+ profitably
·         Strong empathy for people, purpose and Inclusion& Diversity
·         Proven experience in business transformation and evolution to respond to client and market requirements – not afraid to challenge the status quo to drive change for the better
·         Proven track record for winning and retaining global and local clients
·         Experience of working within a data-driven services business, market research and/or media agency – capable of thinking beyond panel to identify clear opportunities for scaling data, programmatic and modern outputs in bold, creative and fast ways
·         Proven experience of succeeding within international matrix organizations across diverse cultural and business environments.
·         Strong Sales DNA with proven track-record of exceeding quota for a subsidiary
·         Strong communication and cross-cultural interpersonal skills for working with APAC-based and international staff
·         Effective and comfortable in public speaking roles
·         Ability to work effectively with the mix of disciplines within Company
·         Willingness to travel internationally as necessary to support job duties
·         Strong capacity to mentor, motivate and inspire
·         Demonstrates integrity, honesty and is mission-driven
