Position Description – Financial Services Industry Consultant


The Financial Services Industry Consultant leverages knowledge and contacts within Financial Services industry to promote sales of business and technology solutions from Company.  The Industry Consultant has broad knowledge of the financial services industry and specific in-depth expertise in Retail Banking.  The Industry Consultant articulates industry vision and trends, and provides industry knowledge to marketing and sales support activities.  The Industry Consultant establishes or enhances executive level relationships, provides subject matter expertise on engagements and identifies new target opportunities emerging within the industry.  The Industry Consultant will be expected to deliver high level, customer billable consulting to our targeted accounts and oversee the development of the customer engagement model for additional services.  In addition, the industry Consultant develops long term strategic partnerships.


Education and Experience Requirements


·         Years Experience
Sr. Level:  10+ (or equivalent)
·         Previous Work Experience

 

Sr. Level: Senior level operational responsibility at a recognized Bank or 7+ years actual business consulting with a consultant organization within Financial Services Industry
·         Education
Bachelors in Business, Marketing, Finance or Information Systems
·         Industry Expertise
Broad understanding of the Financial Services industry and business while understanding the discriminating key business objectives and critical success factors that guide the business

Expertise in evaluating a customer’s organization structure, business performance, and financial standing. Translating overall business strategy and objectives into a business plan outlining key business opportunities.

·         Domain Expertise
Financial Services Domain expertise. Understanding key business processes within an industry, where they intersect the business functional areas, the interaction between business functions and the impact they can have on each other.

·         Consulting Experience
Ability to consult with the client to identify opportunities for business improvement and develop action plans through business needs analysis and to link business objectives to solution offers, which include critical thinking and analytical reasoning that identifies the business opportunity with the most compelling ROI analysis, benefits, risk, and success factors.

Experience in capturing customer insight, experiences, and best practices for reuse in future client engagements



·         Technology Experience
Understanding of Operational Support Systems, Business Support Systems and Decision Support Systems including Analytics, Data Mining, and OLAP tools is preferred but not mandatory

Experience in Logical Data Modeling (LDM).

PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, Project Management, and Access

Key Areas of Responsibility


·         Keeps abreast of Financial industry issues and trends to identify emerging target opportunities
·         Attends industry seminars and conferences
·         Stays current with industry and market news
  • Present at key industry events
·         Keep abreast, maintain and build relationships within the industry and provide thought leadership to our clients
·         Networks with key industry contacts and clients
·         Communicate Company’s Consulting Services offerings and capabilities to industry executives
·         Articulate the value that Company provides which support industry key business initiatives
·         Develop white papers, presentations, etc.
·         Provides executive level consulting on industry trends and issues and Company’s consulting methodology that support our clients

·         Champion for new opportunities and initiatives
  • Provides a global view to facilitate sharing of knowledge and prioritization of engagements for targeted initiatives
  • Scopes and prioritizes client engagement activities, new industry initiative opportunities
  • Shepherds from field based development to offer definition
  • Supports demand generation and provides consultancy leadership during early lifecycles of a client engagement

·         Assist the regional sales teams to drive sales and delivery of Company enterprise data warehouse solutions
·         Provides subject matter expertise on client engagements
·         Sell and deliver Company Consulting Services Offers on client engagements
·         Support Company Solution Offers  on client engagements
·         Support Account and Customer Planning activities

·         Mentors other Company consultants on engagements to infuse industry knowledge into their specific business consulting expertise
·         Support the development of standard Industry Consulting framework, processes and methodologies
·         Capture customer experiences, lessons learned and best practices
·         Share lessons learned with others
·         Provide industry consulting and domain expertise to others

·         Spokesperson and subject matter expert in articulating Company value to external audiences
·         External article publication
·         Speaking engagement
·         Interviews with Analyst, Public Relations, and Press
