We are seeking a dynamic Marketing Director to build and run all marketing functions in one of the fastest growing markets for Company. The Marketing Director will be a key driver in building the strategic investment plan for this diverse and complex market carrying out the appropriate market research, analysis and planning to create the right initiatives to enable rapid market expansion and growth.

You will be primarily responsible for and measured on:

  • Building. leading & managing all marketing personnel & marketing initiatives within the territory. The key focus is on building the overall strategic marketing plan to deliver and maintain aggressive market growth, market share and measurable return to Company
  • Developing and adapting all marketing initiatives for Company in India. As Company continues to grow significantly worldwide, India is a key strategic focus. The need to have key marketing strategies to help build our presence and market dominance is critical
  • Developing and executing relevant programs focused on market segments, strategic customers and prospects, that create awareness of and increase the positive image for Company, thereby increasing customer attraction and demand for Company offerings and the number and quality of leads generated by our programs that are passed to our multi-channels and how much we contribute to the quarterly sales pipeline


Key Objectives

Lead & Manage all Territory Marketing Initiatives so as to:

  • Create awareness of Company and its products with the key Customers within their territory.
  • Segmenting the market & audience relative to Enterprise/SMB and the appropriate targets within those segments
  • Create awareness of Company and its products with the key Influencers within their territory. Press and Analysts are our main targets
  • Create demand and leads for Company products to significantly contribute to the sales pipeline
  • Develop and implement channel marketing Programs to support the Company 2-tier distribution model within their territory. Distributors and VIP reseller members are our key 2-tier partners
  • Develop and implement alliance marketing programs to support key Company alliances within their territory. HP, IBM, & DELL are just some examples to date. This will expand
  • Develop a clear internal communications strategy
  • Implement Company global campaigns within their territory.
  • Be a key member and contributor to AP marketing team
  • Be a key member to the local territory management team. Ensure a strong interconnect and relationship with the other key business functions of Sales, Technical Support, H.R & Finance,
  • Drive the adoption of e-marketing and monitor business results of e-marketing

The key activities of this role will include:

  • Defining market opportunities within the territory.
  • Defining market requirements within the territory.
  • Develop a clear marketing plan for the territory in conjunction with AP Marketing Director
  • Develop awareness of Company and its products in conjunction with our PR agency
  • Develop leads through demand generation activities
  • Develop and leverage the local channel & alliance relationships
  • Localize and implement marketing strategies & programs where appropriate
  • Manage local budget & resources in line with business priority & direction
  • Be a part of the AP & territory management teams.

  • Marketing is charged with generating 1 x pipeline from leads


Candidate Profile

Education: Professional marketing qualification essential
Degree/ MBA or equivalent industry experience
Language: English

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Will have held a senior marketing position within a software vendor, with a minimum of 15+ years marketing & management experience in the hi-tech industry and minimum 5 years people management experience.
  • Experience in strategic marketing management & market analysis – demonstrated ability to build & execute a marketing strategy with clear goals & objectives to align to India business objectives and support the growth targets
  • Managed complex & multiple budget models & funding sources with accountability
  • Is Metrics/ROI focused and knows how to generate leads & track to closed loop
  • Understands sales & marketing integration
  • Clear understanding of how to position a product within a competitive market
  • Clear understanding of the marketing mix and how to build integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Has implemented marketing strategies and produced the associated marketing programs & materials with proven results.
  • Although not a technician, the candidate will be able to appreciate and understand the technical issues surrounding Company products and technologies
  • Understanding of the channel market, Systems Integrators & OEMs across the region. Will have worked with many of the key players & built & executed effective marketing programs to support partner enablement and drive channel revenue
  • Capable of working closely with customers, both channel partners and end users to represent the company and products
  • Able to build a PR strategy, manage the agency and report on outcome of effort
  • Capable of supporting the sales organization with end users and channel partners
  • Solid soft skills: coaching, teamwork, negotiation, interpersonal communication skills, etc.
  • Have first class presentation, communication, planning, and leadership skills
  • Be a natural team player and have a desire to work with others for broader success
  • Be able to operate successfully in a rapidly changing, ambiguous and undefined environment
